Zoe Nelson (They/Them+She/Her)
Zoe earned their BFA in studio art with a focus in ceramics from CSU Sacramento where they developed a strong foundation in technique and passion for black and white illustration that continues to influence their work today.
They have gained valuable experience as a ceramic resident artist at Cobb Mountain Art & Ecology and as an art administrator at the Mendocino Art Center, working in development and marketing. Today, Zoe teaches ceramics at the Grand Theater Center of the Art while also helping guide and inspire young artists through their youth art coordinator role at the Stockton Art League.
With an interest in design, Zoe likes to work heavily with implied texture in both the sgraffito and Mishima techniques. Using the ceramic body as a canvas for design they continue to experiment with form, firing types, and different genres of imagery in their work.
